Kia Ora everyone, this week my class (room 23) went to Te Tuhi Art๐จ Gallery out east in Pakuranga. We had this lovely assistant her name is Bree!! She was so helpful & Kind. She led us to one of the art rooms then we started doing our activity!!
I’ll explain our Activity step by step!!
Step 1: Paint our plastic boards Black. We had to make sure the paint was smooth & flat in order for us to draw on it easily.
Step 2: We didn’t wait for our plastic boards to dry bc that would’ve taken 4-5 hours. So we used some other boards. Our task was to draw some Maori/New Zealand drawings that represent us & our beautiful land!!
Step 3: We chose a coloured paper then we put it underneath our drawings on the black board. Then we had to etch out our drawings through the coloured paper!! An Etch is just a sharp nail that you can scratch on paper.
When we were done we put our drawings up & onto the window so that the paper looked like a glow stick!!
